Barcelona has maintained the push for this season’s La Liga title with another win against Leganes at the Camp Nou stadium.

Barça has now made it two wins out of two since the restart of the league after hammering Real Mallorca 4-0 away some days ago. The league leader showed confident display in front of an empty Camp Nou to record maximum points against the visitors.

It was weirder playing in an empty Camp Nou stadium, although the players already have the feel in the Mallorca game at the weekend.

Ansu Fati scores 5th La Liga goal for Barcelona.

Without their fans, it was difficult for Barca to raise their games but still did the needful by securing maximum points against a struggling side. This might be the reason for the lack of zest for some sections of the game, but as the minutes progressed, they get to realize the fact that there is no fan in the stadium, and ay the end of the day got the goals that would guarantee the maximum points to continue the quest for Liga glory.

As Barcelona dominated the encounter, they struggled to create chances, while Leganés, who would have taken an early lead, squandered the best of their chances. Clement Lenglet had to block two shots in rapid succession that was heading into the net for the visitors, and seconds later, Miguel Ángel Guerrero sent the ball skimming wide off the post.

Leganés’ early spark soon faded as Barça continued to pressed deeper. It later seemed inevitable that they would break the deadlock, and the goal came from a young lad, Ansu Fati, who started the game, The young forward collected the ball from Junior Firpo on the edge of the area and swerved a fine finish around Iván Cuéllar. The goal takes him to five in the league. He is now the second-youngest ever scorer of five La Liga goals in La Liga. Firpo also recorded his first-ever assist for the club.

Despite having the lead, Barça was still struggling to get their full grip on the match. Antoine Griezmann’s effort on goal on 63 minutes was just the third shot on target.  But it was canceled by VAR, which spotted Nelson Semedo in an offside before delivering the cross to the French striker.

Messi scores two in two games

Star player Lionel Messi got his second goal in four days to double the lead for the Blaugrana. The six-times world footballer of the year was on a charging run and was brought down in the box by Rubén Pérez after a series of attempts by the opposing players to get the ball off him.

Messi seals the game fro the spot

The Argentinian stepped up and took it confidently, and the game was over, and the points were in the bag.
