The manager of Juventus, Andrea Pirlo has admitted that he has done a lot of things wrong as the manager of the Italian giants. He said it has not been easy for him as the manager of Juventus.

Andrea Pirlo is seen as an experiment by many pundits who believe that the Italian tactician was not ripe enough to coach a club as big as Juventus. Since he took over from a more experienced coach like Maurizio Sarri ahead of the 2020-2021 season, the tactician has been recording inconsistent results which made the season’s campaign a more difficult job to handle.

It has become so bad for Juventus that the club has been struggling in all aspects of the season including in the Italian Serie A. The club has been a shadow of its former self this season. Under Andrea Pirlo, Juventus are not struggling to win the Italian Serie A title but they are struggling to make the top four.

They are currently sitting on the 3rd spot on the league table with 59 points in 29 games after recording 17 wins, 8 draws, and 4 defeats. They are currently 11 points away from first placed Inter Milan, and a point above 4th placed Atalanta.

As they have been struggling in the Italian Serie A, they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League this season by Porto which means that things are getting worse for Juventus under Andrea Pirlo than under Sarri.

Recall that though Sarri was not able to take Juventus to the final of the UEFA Champions League last season, he was able to help the club to win the Italian Serie A title which was the club’s 9th successive Serie A title in the club’s history.

As it stands, the history of always winning the Italian Serie A title might not repeat itself under Andrea Pirlo this season. The coach who has never coached a professional club before he was appointed as the coach of Juventus noted after a 2-1 victory over Napoli on Wednesday, April 7, that he would learn from the mistakes he made at the club in the future.

“I have got a lot of things wrong, but I would do them all again because the first year as a coach is not easy,” Pirlo told Sky Italia.

“You throw yourself into it with your ideas and try to have things in mind to transmit to the team. Sometimes you do well, sometimes you make mistakes.

“I made mistakes as everyone does, but I can draw conclusions from them and not repeat them in the future.”

Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates his goal against Napoli.

Andrea Pirlo’s attempt to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign was boosted on Wednesday after Juventus won their postponed game against Napoli.

In the postponed game, Juventus’ talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo gave Juventus an early lead in the 13th minute. After his goal, the two clubs could not do much until in the 73rd minute when Paulo Dybala scored Juventus’ second goal in the club.

Napoli got their consolation goal in the 90th minute from the penalty spot through the boots of Lorenzo Insigne. The defeat has forced Napoli to remain on the 5th spot on the league table with 56 points in 29 games, two points away from the top four.
