Pictures from the scene show two cars colliding in the front, with both bonnets damaged and the ground littered with debris.

According to accounts, Onana, who plays for Ajax in the Netherlands, was on his way to Yaounde, Cameroon’s capital, when the event occurred.

Thankfully, the 25-year-old did not sustain any injuries.

Onana, who reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019, was regarded as one of the most exciting young goalkeepers in the world in recent years before his career was derailed by a failed drugs test.

He was given a one-year suspension by UEFA after testing positive for Furosemide, but claimed he had taken his wife’s medication by accident.

At this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, he was the goalkeeper for hosts Cameroon, who finished third.

Meanwhile, the Indomitable Lions will be without Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa of Napoli for the aforementioned match.

Last Saturday, the 26-year-old was hurt while playing for his side against Udinese in Serie A, where they fought back from a goal down, thanks to Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen’s double, to win 2-1.

Zambo Anguissa played the entire game but was injured, according to the Indomitable Lions, who have since replaced him with Arnaud Djoum of Apollon Limassol.
