While football fans around the world feel footballers enjoy glitz and glamor, Alphonso Davies has confirmed otherwise.

He took out time in an interview to talk about the challenges he is facing whenever he is not playing football or not in the stadium.

The Bayern Munich star has acknowledged that he barely has anything to do after training and playing matches.

“Life as a professional footballer is very cool, no doubt,” he revealed while speaking on his Twitch channel.

“You can chill and enjoy life, but, after training, there’s nothing to do.”

“For me, because I don’t have a family and my girlfriend is not living with me, I’m by myself.”

“It’s a little bit worrying not having something to do and especially when all your friends have work.”

“I probably have like five friends. I’m a popular loser.”

These revelation by Davies will definitely be a food for thought about life of a young footballer in a foreign country.

Alphonso Boyle Davies is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a left-back or winger for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the Canada national team. He was born on November 2, 2000.

Davies is widely regarded as one of the best full-backs in the world. He is nicknamed “The Roadrunner” for his lightening pace, dribbling ability and creativity.

He was also the first player born in the 200s to play in the Major League Soccer league.

Alphonso Davies is one of six children born to Liberian parents at the refugee camp of Buduburam in Ghana as the fourth youngest of six children.

The family left during the Second Liberian Civil War, the said war resulted in the displacement of nearly 450,000 Liberians.

Davies’ parents, Debeah Davies and Victoria Davies, were both raised in Monrovia, Liberia’s capital, they relocated with the family to Canada in 2005 and made Edmonton their new home.

His two younger siblings are substantially younger than him, they include Ruth, his younger sister, and an unidentified younger brother. He also has three other older siblings.

Alphonso Davies, a defender for Bayern Munich, officially ended his relationship with Jordyn Huitema in May 2022 after nearly five years of dating.

The former Canadian power couple, both 21 years old as at then, started dating in Canada before moving to Europe. They were reportedly together since September 2017.

Together, they even had a YouTube channel which was later deactivated, along with all of their social media posts featuring each other.

The Canadian left-back confirmed that they are no longer together while defending Huitema from claims that she was cheating and unfaithful.

“Yes Jordyn and I have parted ways. The rumours about her are not true.”

Alphonso Davies moved to Bayern Munich for a €13.5 million transfer fee and performance bonuses after more than 80 appearances with the Vancouver Whitecaps in MLS.

Since 2019, Alphonso Davies has played over 130 games for the German team, where he has attained success and built a name.
