After the 2022 Ballon d’Or, the Manager of Bayern Munich Julian Nagelsmann, came out to question the decision of Ballon d’Or to give Barcelona midfielder Gavi the Kopa Trophy ahead of his players, stating that Gavi does not deserve it.

Nagelsmann mentioned Musiala and Jude Bellingham has the two players who had exceptional season and should have been ahead of Gavi.

This is not the first time a Bayern Munich player will be left out of winning a category of the Ballon d’Or. Frank Ribery also suffered the same fate in 2014 where Cristiano Ronaldo beat him to the Ballon d’Or.
