According to authoritative Italian transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano, Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez had reached an agreement to terminate his contract with Serie A giants Inter Milan immediately.
Since his January 2018 switch from Arsenal to Manchester United, the former Gunners fan favourite has struggled. Sanchez left Manchester United for Inter Milan after a disastrous season at Old Trafford, but he is no longer needed at the San Siro.
Sanchez, 33, is already considered to have past his prime, but the Copa America winner still expects to compete in the Champions League next season with clubs like Olympique Marseille rumored to be interested in his services.
However, a deal is only likely to be completed if the former Premier League star tears up his Inter Milan contract which is now said to be done as Fabrizio Romano reported.
The report also confirmed that the French side Marseille have already been in conversation with Sanchez and the talks are at a good point.
Inter have reached an agreement in principle with Alexis Sanchez to terminate the current contract and part ways with immediate effect, just final detail before it’s signed. 🚨🇨🇱 #transfers

Although Sanchez had a good season last year, he is not likely to be part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans for the upcoming season. It wasn’t until last season that the 33-year-old was forced to play most of his minutes as a second-stringer.
As a result of his lack of playing time last season, Sanchez is likely aware that his time in Italy would soon be over. Sanchez’s move to Marseille will allow him to play alongside two players who have previously played for Arsenal.
On a free transfer in 2020, the Chilean joined the Italians and has scored just 20 goals in 108 appearances (a goal or assist every 2.5 games).
The five goals and nine assists he had in 45 games for United (one every 3.2 games) are obviously worse, but his 80 goals and 45 assists in 166 games at Arsenal are still a long way off (a goal or assist every 1.3 games).
Meanwhile, Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella is wanted by Manchester City and Chelsea with the Blues prepared to pay the £50 million asking price to acquire him.
Since Cucurella has four years left on his contract at the Amex, the Seagulls are unwilling to let him depart and would require a substantial offer to do so. By wanting to be sold, the left-back has pushed for a change of scenery which could favor Chelsea sooner or later.
