While Parma attempted to stage a comeback at the later stage of the game but the best the hosts were able to get was a lone goal in the 71st minute, thanks to a strike from 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder, Hernani.

The 2-1 win kept Inter Milan rooted at the summit of the Italian Serie A table with 59 points in 25 league games, after recording 18 wins, 5 draws, and 2 defeats. They are currently 6 points above second-placed AC Milan.

After the game, Alexis Sanchez who joined Inter Milan on a free transfer from Manchester United on September 1, 2020, said Inter Milan are on the right path to winning the Serie A title this season.

“It was a difficult match, as Parma did well, so did we, but we are fighting for the Scudetto and we are on the right path,” Sanchez told Sky Sport Italia.

“We do feel a positive atmosphere. We have to focus on ourselves, staying on our path, and keeping this up. Since we lost the Europa League Final, the team has improved so much. We’re taking those steps forward that we needed to become a winning team.”

Alexis Sanchez was one of the biggest names in the Premier League when he joined Arsenal from FC Barcelona on July 10, 2014. After about four years at the North London club, he decided to join Manchester United in 2018.

Unfortunately for the Chilean, Sanchez could not establish himself at the Manchester club and had to join Inter Milan on loan in August 2019. He spent the entire 2019-2020 season at the Italian club before United allowed him to join Inter Milan for free.

Since he became a permanent player for Inter Milan, the coach of the club, Antonio Conte has used him 18 times in the league this season in which he has scored 5 goals and provided 5 assists. He has played a total number of 26 games, recording 5 goals and 6 assists in all competitions.

“I am a player with a lot of experience, the coach trusts me and I am happy”, Sanchez said. “I always want to play and be at 100 percent.

“I feel like a caged lion and the more I play, the better I feel, that’s always been the case since I started playing football.

“I love this sport, I love playing, and the more I play, the better I feel. We’ve all made sacrifices, worked hard, watching videos, studying, training and every day learning something new.”
