A Newcastle fan was caught in a shocking incident wrestling with a child for Dan Burn’s shirt after the defender threw it in the stands on boxing-day match against Leicester City.
The Newcastle defender showed signs of appreciation for the visiting fans after an easy win against Leicester City.
In addition, Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes also threw their shirts to the crowd.
The video showed how the woman was trying to pull the shirt from a young boy before the fans intervened as Newcastle moved to second place in the Premier League for the first time in many years.
Football fans felt disgusting about the incident, and many tagged it as disgraceful and unbelievable.
Most of the fans were pleased that the child was able to win the shirt from the adult, with the steward officers also having to intervene in the issue.
However, the father of the child reacted to the incident, stating that his son had demanded a Burn’s shirt before other fans.
Burn pointed at the child and gave the top to the steward, who threw the shirt to the 11-year-old boy. The father explained that the uncle got him the ticket for the away match as a Christmas gift.
The boy’s father is planning on framing the shirt, but his son would not let him wash it first. The jersey still has some mud on it. Burn remains a hero to the kid and other Newcastle footballers on the pitch.
