Lionel Messi is regarded by many as the greatest football player of all time hence, the attention is always on him in every football game he is involved in.

Before being shoved to the ground by a security officer, a shirtless fan tried to get Messi to autograph his back.

It, therefore, comes as no surprise that some people would risk everything simply to make a memory with the Argentine striker. And that’s exactly what occurred in the second half of Argentina’s 3-0 triumph over Jamaica on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Red Bull Arena.

With his phone in one hand, a fan from Harrison, New Jersey, leaped through security perimeters to enter the field and approach Messi. When they saw the fan enter the pitch, a lone security guard chased after him which prompted the referee to halt the game.

The fan in question stumbled on the slick field when he was within centimeters from Messi, and more than five security personnel quickly grabbed him.

Eventually, the supporter was good luck for Messi because he later scored two goals (86′, 89′) to give Argentina the victory.

One time, a fan gave Messi a sharpie and requested that he autograph his back.

After signing his autograph, Messi nearly knocked out himself as a security guard tackled the admirer. Fortunately, the former Barcelona player was uninjured.

Lionel Messi became one of the players to score 100 goals in an international competition. Messi celebrated his milestone with two goals as Argentina defeated Jamaica 3-0 to move closer to Italy’s record-setting unbeaten run.

After entering the game at the Red Bull Arena as a replacement in the second half, superstar PSG forward Messi increased his total number of goals for his country to 90 in 164 appearances.

Messi’s goals concluded a convincing victory for the South Americans, who have now gone 35 games unbeaten in a sequence dating back to 2019  just two short of Italy’s 37 unbeaten streak between 2018 and 2012, which holds the record for the longest unbeaten streak ever.

Messi scored his first goal of the game in the 86th minute, racing forward and beating Jamaica goalkeeper Andre Blake with a shot into the bottom corner.

The 35-year-old seven-time Ballon D’Or winner then produced an impish second goal, craftily curling a low shot underneath the Jamaican wall into the bottom corner from a free-kick.
