Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt fans fought dirty in the city of Seville in Spain hours before the kick-off of the Europa League final on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

Reports in Spain claimed that Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt fans continued their fight near a city center street known as Calle Puerta de la Carne on Wednesday evening, a few hours before kick-off.

Also, two hours before kick-off, Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt fans clashed on the road leading to the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan, the venue of the Europa League final.

More so, reports in Spain claimed that the fans of the two teams clashed at the start of the San Bernardo bridge, which leads onto Eduardo Dato avenue. This time around, reports claimed that Eintracht Frankfurt fans attacked unarmed Scottish fans.

Similar attacks on Scottish football fans by German football fans were reported across the city of Seville in the build-up of the Europa League final on Wednesday.

Several fans of both clubs were left injured while a couple of the fans were arrested by Spanish police who were mobilized to the areas to put things in order.

Recall that Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt met at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in Seville for the 2022 UEFA Europa League final on Wednesday night.

Reports claimed that nearly 100,000 Rangers supporters traveled from Glasgow to Seville for the final game. Most of them could not get tickets to the 42,700-capacity stadium due to the limited capacity of the stadium.

Also, over 50,000 Eintracht Frankfurt fans traveled from Germany to Spain for the Europa League final. Most of them were not allowed into the stadium due to the stadium’s capacity.

Hence, most fans of the two clubs hung out outside the stadium, and others went to bars around the city of Seville to watch the match.

During the game, Rangers took the lead in the 57th minute thanks to a fine strike from Nigerian international Joe Aribo. But the lead did not last for too long before Eintracht Frankfurt scored the equalizer in the 69th minute, thanks to a strike from Rafael Borre.

Afterward, the game was settled through penalty shootouts. Unfortunately for Rangers, Aaron Ramsay missed one of their five spot-kicks while Frankfurt went on to score all their kicks.

Hence, Eintracht Frankfurt won their second Europa League title in the history of the club after beating Rangers 5-4 on penalties on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
