Gabriel Jesus is rumored to leave the Premier League to join a European club. The Manchester City forward has one year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, but he may quit the club this summer if he refuses to sign a new one.

The Citizens paid £27 million to recruit Jesus from Brazilian side Palmeiras at the start of 2017, and he was an instant hit, scoring seven goals and assisting four more in his first ten Premier League outings. Following his amazing start in life in the northwest, he was projected to become a superstar in England.

However, despite scoring 89 goals in 229 games for City, he has struggled to maintain a regular first-team spot at times. And, according to 90min, the 23-year-old is now keen to test his luck on the continent, with Barcelona, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid all showing an interest.

City and Jesus are still in talks, and the club is trying to sign him to a new contract. However, if he does not agree to terms, the Premier League winners will attempt to offload him this summer in order to prevent losing him for free. Gabriel is 25 years old and receives a weekly salary of £90,000.

Jesus has spent the majority of his City career as a striker, but he has also played as a winger.

He had previously been expected to succeed Sergio Aguero, the club’s iconic striker who left at the end of last season. However, he appears to be more at ease in the supporting part.

The Brazil international, who has 54 caps for his country, has started just one of City’s previous 11 Premier League games, with Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, and Riyad Mahrez frequently chosen.

However, he was named to Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup when the Citizens faced Liverpool in a key Premier League match earlier this month, and he went on to score. That could indicate that he is still well regarded in Manchester.

However, it was announced earlier this week that Jesus was in advanced talks with Arsenal about a move to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are looking for a marquee striker this summer, as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah’s contracts are about to expire.

And Jesus may be a good fit because he worked with Mikel Arteta at City when the Spaniard was Guardiola’s assistant and is highly regarded by transfer chief Edu. However, if Jesus has his heart set on moving abroad, it could put an end to his stint in England for good.
