As Mikel Arteta’s side defeated Watford away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder was impressed by forwards Saka and Odegaard.

Saka, an England international, began on the right side of an attacking midfield three, with Odegaard behind the striker.

After only five minutes, Saka assisted Norway international offensive midfielder Odegaard.

On the half-hour mark, the English kid scored.

Both Saka and Odegaard, in our opinion, are outstanding footballers who represent Arsenal’s future.

Saka has been a consistent starter for Arsenal for quite some time.

Odegaard, a former Real Madrid player, has shown his abilities.

Arsenal is currently doing well and is very much in contention for a place in the Premier League’s top four.

Saka and Odegaard will have to be at their best in the coming weeks if the Gunners are to secure a Champions League spot in the Premier League standings this season.

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo, Arsenal’s Player of the Season for 2020/21, continues to make significant progress last season, establishing his place as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.

He scored seven goals and had the same number of assists in all competitions – no player had more for us last season. Bukayo is a highly flexible player who can play at fullback but is most often used as a wide forward, where he can use his speed and cunning to deadly effect.

Bukayo, a product of our Hale End Academy, has been with the club since he was eight years old and made his first-team debut in 2018, shortly after his seventeenth birthday. He was called up to England’s Euro 2020 squad and scored his first international goal against Austria in a friendly in June.

He was one of England’s standout players at the tournament, winning man-of-the-match against the Czech Republic in the group stage and then became the country’s youngest player to play in a major final.

Martin Odegaard

Martin joined us on a permanent basis in the summer after an extremely profitable loan spell with us in the second half of last season.

Martin is a highly creative and talented attacking midfielder who prefers to play in the No. 10 position but can also play in deeper central midfield or out wide.

The Norwegian international made his senior debut for Stromgodset at the age of 15, then signed for Real Madrid shortly after and became the club’s youngest-ever player, making his debut at the age of 16 years and 157 days.

Before joining the Gunners last season, he had three successful loan periods in Holland and Spain, scoring in the north London derby victory at the Emirates in March. He has been a full international since August 2014, when at the age of 15 years and 253 days, he became his country’s youngest-ever player.
