Paris Saint Germain forward, Neymar has hinted that he would like to play at least a season in the Major League Soccer (MLS), the elite league in the United States of America.

However, the 30-year-old Brazilian forward who still has until June 30, 2025, before his contract with PSG expires said he would remain in Paris, France until his contract with the French club expires.

Recall that Neymar started his professional football career in Brazil at Santos FC before he joined FC Barcelona on January 1, 2009, for a transfer fee worth £88 million.

Before he left the Brazilian club, Neymar scored a whopping 70 goals and provided 35 assists in 134 games in all competitions.

After a successful four years at Barca in which he scored 105 goals and provided 76 assists in 186 games in all competitions, PSG paid a whopping €222 million, which is a world record transfer fee, for the services of the Brazilian forward.

Since he joined the French club, he has been able to score 91 goals and provided 56 assists in 132 games amid a series of injury woes.

So far this season, the Brazil international has scored just four goals and provided four assists in 16 games which are far below his usual stats.

Recently, Neymar was a guest on Fenomenos podcast in which he was asked about the most likely country he would like to play in. The Brazilian footballer said he wasn’t sure if he would play in a Brazilian club again but noted that he would love to play in the United States.

“I don’t know if I’ll play in Brazil again,” he said. “I have some doubts about that.

“I’d love to play in the US actually. I’d love to play there at least for a season.”

For a long time now, Neymar has proven to be a footballer that loves to enjoy himself by having luxurious vacations, clubbing, and engaging in a series of extra-curricular activities.

Hence, the 30-year-old Brazilian football icon believes that a move to the Major League Soccer where their season does not last more than nine months would give him more free time to enjoy himself.

“First of all their season is shorter, so I’d get three months’ vacation,” Neymar said.

“I joke with my friends that I will retire when I’m 32. But it’s just a joke. I don’t know,” he said.

“Honestly, I will play until I’m mentally tired. If my mental health is ok and my body as well. Physically, I think I’ll still last a few years. But my mental health is the most important thing.”

Neymar has been playing for Brazil’s national team since August 10, 2010. Since then, he has made 116 appearances in which he scored 70 goals.
