Nigeria’s musician, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido witnessed Cristiano Ronaldo‘s winning goal at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
In return, the official social media pages of the Premier League club took out time to celebrate the music star and other dignitaries that watched the game.
On October 20, 2021, Davido stormed Old Trafford to watch the Manchester United UEFA Champions League group stage game against Atalanta. The match was a must-win for Manchester United, unfortunately for the hosts, Atalanta stunned them with two first-half goals.
Despite the embarrassing start to the game, Manchester United were able to pick themselves up in the second half. The hosts scored three successive goals to earn the three maximum points.
The goal that erupted the stadium was Cristiano Ronaldo’s 81st-minute header which gave Manchester United a hard-earned three maximum points. Aside from the points, it lifted Manchester United from the bottom of Group F to the top of the group with 6 points in 3 games, 2 points above second-placed Atalanta.
After the win, handlers of Manchester United social media pages shared a picture of Davido holding a jersey of the club. The singer’s name was inscribed on the back of the jersey with Ronaldo’s jersey number 7.

Though Davido has been seen at Stamford Bridge watching Chelsea games and even visiting the club’s locker room, the singer has a strong feeling for Manchester United, especially for Cristiano Ronaldo.
He referred to the footballer in one of his hit songs ‘Fall’, and the footballer has also reciprocated the love by following the singer on Instagram.
Davido took the love he has for Ronaldo to the next level by celebrating very wildly when the football star scored the winning goal of the Champions League game.
In a video that surfaced on the internet after the game, Nigeria’s singer could be seen in the VIP section of the stadium celebrating with his group.
The joy of the winner was uncontrollable as the musician landed himself on the floor with shouts of joy. He was seen at the scene with a Nigerian businessman turned Instagram celebrity Cubana Chiefpriest.
