The manager of the Liverpool football club, Jurgen Klopp, has insisted that it might not be necessary for the problems at the club to be solved using the summer transfer window. Hence, the German tactician revealed that the club might not have to spend big in the transfer market this summer.

Liverpool have been struggling in most parts of the 2020-2021 season due to series of injuries to some of the top players at the club. The series of injuries made it impossible for the club to successfully defend the Premier League title they won last season.

It is no longer news that Manchester City have been confirmed champions of this season’s Premier League campaign while Liverpool are left to struggle for a top-four finish.

Jurgen Klopp and his boys are currently sitting on the 6th spot on the league table with 57 points in 34 games, 7 points above 4th placed Chelsea with two outstanding games.

If Liverpool win their two outstanding games, they will be a point blow Chelsea which would mean a lot for the club that was not given a chance this season due to the enormous injury worries the club had to battle with.

Despite how Jurgen Klopp struggled to keep the team moving this season amidst the injury crisis, the German tactician believes that the club don’t have to spend big to solve the crisis at the club.

Ahead of the club’s 35th Premier League game which is against second-placed Manchester United, Klopp said the structure of the club would not make it necessary to solve the problem of the club only in the transfer market.

“The situation doesn’t really change, the world of football, the world itself, is in a very difficult place. With the structure we have here we do not just solve our problems in the transfer market”, Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports.

“We do not say ‘let’s swap five or 10 players’, it is not that it is just not needed but we could not do it (either).

“If we did not have the injury problems we did this year the season could have looked different, could we have been champions? I don’t know, but it would have looked different.

“Qualifying for the Champions League is incredibly difficult but we would have had a better chance than we do now, without the problems we had.

“Next year we do not look for excuses but winning the league in a league where teams have the financial resources and the football knowledge like Manchester City and Chelsea is just tricky. United will try to strengthen as well.

“Qualifying for the Champions League is already a big job in this country.”

The Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United is scheduled to kick-off at 20:15 on Thursday, May 13 at Old Trafford.
