Liverpool has been in incredible form this season. After falling second-place to Manchester City in the Premier League last season, the Reds have come back stronger and determined to lift the title this season. Klopp’s boys are currently 22 points clear at the top and have not lost a single game this season. The last time Liverpool suffered a home defeat was back in April 2017 when they were defeated 2-1 to Crystal Palace.
There are currently nine players who have been involved in more than ten league games at Anfield and haven’t lost a single game. The nine players are:
Alisson Becker
Alisson’s first time at Anfield was when he was with Roma. Unfortunately for the keeper, that day he conceded five goals in Roma’s 5-2 defeat to Liverpool in 2018. Fortunately for the keeper, Klopp must have been impressed because the 27-year-old is now playing for the Reds. Having spent £65 million to sign him, the Brazilian international has won 26 and drew two of his 28 league games at Anfield.
Virgil van Dijk
Van Dijk has been a key man for Liverpool’s recent transformation. The Dutchman has been regarded as the best center-back in the world in recent times. Since signing from Southampton in 2018 on a deal worth £75 million the defender has proved to be worth every penny. The center-back has won 35 of his 39 league games Anfield.
Andy Robertson
Robertson got off to slow start at Anfield following his move from Hull City in 2017. He has since found his feet and established himself to become a pivotal part of Klopp’s squad. So far, the left-back has made 44 league appearances at Anfield, having won 38 games and drawing 6 at Anfield.
Fabinho
The Brazilian has enjoyed 22 league appearances at Anfield. Wining 21 one of those games and drawing one against Leicester City in 2019. This is the only home league game they haven’t won when Fabinho has been involved.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
After leaving Arsenal in 2017 to join Liverpool, Oxlade-Chamberlain has helped the Reds pick up 60 points out of 78 points possible. Having won 20 of those games and drawing the other six. The midfielder’s injury problems have however limited his career to just 26 league appearances at Anfield.
Naby Keita
Keita joined Liverpool 18 months ago and has made 16 appearances at Anfield since his arrival.
Having won 14 out of 16 games while drawing the other two. The 25-year-old hasn’t gotten much starting time due to his disappointing form.
Xherdan Shaqiri
Shaqiri has gotten off to a slow start as he has struggled to get playing time due to lack of form.
After joining Liverpool in 2018 from Stock City, the winger has enjoyed 15 league appearances having won 14 of those games and drawing one at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah
After joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, the winger proved exceptional worth every penny.
Having scored 45 goals in 50 league games at Anfield the Egyptian star is a key member of Klopp ‘s squad. Salah has won 41 games and has drawn nine games at Anfield. Interestingly enough, the only time Salah has played in a Liverpool league defeat at Anfield is when he was playing for Chelsea and they defeated the Reds 2-0 in 2014.
Sadio Mane
Mane has been with the Reds longer than any other player on the list. But thanks to an unfortunate injury and international commitments, the forward has missed the last two home defeats in 2016-17. The Senegalese international has been involved in 59 home games and has won 50 of those games and has drawn nine. Mane joined Klopp’s side from Southampton in 2016 and has been in incredible form ever since.
Liverpool will make their Premier League return after the winter break on Saturday when they travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich. The Reds will hope to extend their unbeaten run as they have won 24 games and drew 1 thus far this season. Klopp’s side has a 22-point lead at the top of the table.
