Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Hakim Ziyech has revealed that he is happy to be moving to England and joining Chelsea in the summer. Ziyech has been influential for the club during his three and a half years at the club after joining from rivals Twente in 2016 for €11 million.
FutballNews reports that Ajax announced on Wednesday that Chelsea have met their asking price for Ziyech and have completed the signing of Moroccan international for a reported fee of £38 million. The creative winger becomes the first signing of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.
The 26-year-old has been sidelined with a calf injury for the last three weeks but returned and was in action for Ajax during their 3-0 win over Vitesse last night in the Eredivisie.
Reacting to his return from injury and his impending move to Chelsea, Ziyech in a post on his Instagram page said that he still has unfinished business’ at Ajax, adding that he hopes to ‘create a few more memories’ before his time at the club is over.
He wrote: “Happy to be fit again so I can enjoy these last months on the pitch, where I belong.
“Received a lot of warm and positive messages during my absence and I hope to create just a few more beautiful memories than we already have.
“Very happy with my next step, but first I have some unfinished business to handle.”

Before he got injured, the Moroccan has been in spectacular form for Ajax this season, banging in10 goals and making 21 assists in all competitions. The 26-year-old has scored a total of 48 goals and 82 assists in 158 appearances in an Ajax shirt.
Ajax canceled a £25m release clause in Ziyech’s contract after extending his contract with the club last year which will expire in 2022. Ziyech was one of the Ajax players that stood out during his side’s thrilling 4-4 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in November. He would certainly fit the bill at Stamford Bridge and add more attacking depth to Lampard’s squad.
