The manager of Newcastle United, Steve Bruce, has insisted that he would not walk away from the club, while the club’s supporters want him out immediately.

Steve Bruce has been having a tough time at Newcastle United especially this season in which the club is on the verge of going into relegation. The club has recorded a whopping 15 defeats this season. They have also recorded 7 wins and 7 draws in 29 league games.

The inconsistency of Steve Bruce and his boys has forced them down to the 17th spot on the league table with 28 points, two points away from 18th placed Fulham and four points away from 16th placed Brighton.

It became obvious that Steve Bruce was in trouble at Newcastle United when the club visited Amex stadium to play against relegation-threatened Brighton. To the dismay of the club’s supporters, Brighton were good enough to defeat Newcastle United 3-0.

Brighton broke the deadlock in the 3rd additional minute of the first half through the boots of Leandro Trossard. The host made it 2-0, thanks to Danny Welbeck’s strike in the 51st minute. Brighton completed their triumph over Newcastle United in the 68th minute through the boots of Neal Maupay.

Before the 2020-2021 season ends, Newcastle United will have to go through some big names in the league before they can guarantee themselves a place in the league ahead of next season. Some of the games waiting for Steve Bruce and his boys include: Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leicester, Manchester City, and relegation rivals Fulham.

So, the chance of Bruce leading Newcastle United out of the Premier League is very high but the tactician believes that his experience at the club is enough to help him keep the sinking club in the league.

“We’ve got to accept we weren’t good enough,” he said after Newcastle United’s defeat at the hands of Brighton on Saturday. “We’ve got to dust ourselves down, and hopefully we can get a couple back in the next couple weeks, but even then, they’ve been out so long it’s of course a worry.

“I accept that wasn’t good enough tonight,” he said. “It rests at my door. I accept that and will see what develops, but I won’t give up…

“So as I’ve said, I’m not the type to just walk away from a bad defeat, but you’re going to have to ask others.”

While Newcastle United’s supporter’s club sent a message to the owner of the Premier League side, Mike Ashley, urging him to get rid of Steve Bruce before it gets too late for the club.

“This evening’s result has presented Mike Ashley and the club’s management with an opportunity to justifiably sack an underachieving coach captaining a sinking ship that is heading straight for the Championship”, the supporters club said after Newcastle United’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton.

“If history has taught Ashley one thing, it’s that acting too late in these circumstances results in one thing, relegation.

“We implore the club to remove Bruce as coach immediately and appoint an ambitious manager ahead of the international break, who has the capability of keeping Newcastle United in the Premier League.

“There is still hope for the club this season, but we’re running out of time. We need a decisive, brave decision – and we need it tonight”
