Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has pledged to turnaround the London-side underwhelming form, as the club is facing some trying times at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are placed eighth on the Premier League log, eleven points below league leaders, Manchester United and five-point below fourth-placed, Liverpool.

The former Chelsea player is on the verge of being sacked as the result of the club’s form. The Blues have lost five of the last eight games,  especially their fall at the Kings Power Stadium against Leicester City, 2-0 it ended.

But Lampard is of the opinion that the Blues can rise from the ruins, stating that he has the ‘fighting spirit’ to build the squad. He further added that the challenge posed against the squad will make young players to be strong.

“I’m a fighter first and foremost, it’s how I managed to make a career out of the game as a player. So when I packed up I could have easily stayed in the media or left football completely, I didn’t need to come back in.” Lampard said

Lampard admitted that he loves his job at Stamford Bridge and he likes the fact that there are trying times, which he can fight it out of the slump. He stated the cooperation of his team will be required to take them out of the recent state at the club.

“I got in with a desire to be successful, and I didn’t have the blinkers on, I knew there would be tough times, there would be things you can’t control like you did as a player.” He said.

Lampard said that, coming  through a tough time is the best feeling in the round leather game, it’s the best feeling you can possibly have. And it would make this talented squad.

“We’re talented, we’re young. You look at title-winning groups and they maybe have more of the players you rely on week in and week out who have maybe been there and done it a bit more”

“We’re fighting on different levels like that. But at the same time fight is an important word in football, so there’s no doubt we have to put a lot of things to the side.” He added.

Lampard might be shown the exit door, if he fails turnaround the dwindling state at Stamford Bridge. Max Allegri and Thomas Tuchel are the potential replacement for  Lampard.

The Blues will be hoping to come back to winning ways against Luton at Stamford Bridge next Sunday.
