Some players might miss international games for the country after being banned from travelling by local authorities

It was gathered that the local health authority in Florence has prevented players from joining their national teams, as they banned Fiorentina players from leaving the city after José Maria Callejon tested positive for Coronavirus.

The latest development forced Fiorentina into a closed bubble for two days. According to the Serie A protocol they have to self-isolate for ten days since the first case emerged.

On Sunday afternoon, it was then confirmed that other local health authorities in Italy have prevented players from leaving the country to join their national teams.

Football Italia reports that players of Sassuolo, Genoa, Roma, Lazio and Inter have been banned from travelling as each one of them have at least one positive player within their group.

How Ronaldo came back to Italy with COVID-19 despite isolation

It could be recalled that Juventus had six COVID-19 cases, which included Cristiano Ronaldo, who recovered after 19 days in isolation.

The Portuguese broke the Juventus bubble last month to join their national teams and the club it to the local ASL which informed the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office who opened an investigation.

Moreover, players who have been called-up by their respective national teams may still travel after the end of their self-isolation period as other Juventus players did last month.

The likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Merih Demiral, Wojciech Szczesny, Aaron Ramsey joined their national teams a few days after the beginning of the training camp and after the end of the self-isolation period.

So, we will be on the lookout if the ones tested negative will be allowed to travel and represent their countries as we enter the international week.
