Former Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim has arrived in Manchester on Monday, November 11, 2024, as he prepares to resume as the new Manchester United manager.

However, the Portuguese tactician won’t be able to start any job without his work permit.

The 39-year-old manager is still waiting for his work permit to be processed so that he can officially step foot at the Carrington training ground with his team.

It was revealed that the lack of a work permit is not a block in his appointment as the new manager of the club. However, it remains a standard procedure for obtaining a work duty in the United Kingdom.

Most of the Manchester United players will be away for international duties, with Amorim’s first match in charge of the Red Devils just two weeks away against 17th-placed Premier League team Ipswich.

Amorim will not be unveiled to the media until his first pre-match press conference.

However, he is expected to speak to Manchester United fans via their in-house TV station before his official press conference.

Manchester United are focused on allowing the former Sporting CP manager to settle in England quickly.

Also, the club is expected to get a comfortable place for the coach to stay before the end of the international break.

Amorim will continue the impressive performance of former Manchester United interim manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who won three matches out of four.

The Dutch manager is still well interested in becoming the assistant manager of the club.

After his last game as the interim manager, Van Nistelrooy said, “This block of four games felt like a closure, and the future is open.”

“I appreciated the clear communication of the club. It was an interim spell for the short term. They kept me in the loop. It was four games, and for me it was important to have that clarity.”

“The communication was after the block of four; there will be communication towards you and your colleagues.”

“The most important thing is the football club. I am here to support that, and I want to continue that.”
