In the second half, Tottenham Hotspur’s comeback hopes suffered a heavy blow when their goal scorer Lankshear picked up his second yellow card and was sent off, reducing the Ange Postecoglou-led side to 10 men.

However, despite playing much of the second 45 with numerical disadvantage, the visitors pulled off a strong showing and scored nine minutes after the hour mark through Dominic Solanke to reduce the deficit.

The game ended with Victor Osimhen’s brace powering the Turkish champions past a stubborn Tottenham at Rams Park.

Victor Osimhen’s performances for Galatasaray

Osimhen’s brace against Tottenham Hotspur marked another standout performance by the Napoli loanee. He has been in the form of his life since he broke his goal duck with the Turkish giants after three matches.

The brace marked his sixth goal in eight matches for Galatasaray. He has four league goals in five matches and two in three Europa League matches.

His total goal contributions stand at 9 goals on 8 matches. For a player who sealed a deadline-day move to the Turkish giants, Osimhen has justified the hype as one of the best forwards in Europe from Africa.

Victor Osimhen Galatasaray contract update

Osimhen joined Galatasaray after a failed attempt to complete to Chelsea in the Premier League and Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, he was axed of Napoli new manager Antonio Conte’s plans and was expected to leave with Conte lining up Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku as his replacement.

Following the deadlocked transfer proceedings for a move to the Premier League or Saudi Arabia, Osimhen had to settle for a late move to Galatasaray but on loan deal with no obligation to buy clause.

We reported earlier that Galatasaray is considering making Osimhen’s loan deal a permanent offer following his standout performances for the club.

While proceedings are reportedly underway to make the move permanent, Osimhen’s possible January transfer exit has not been ruled out.

He is linked to bigger clubs in Europa with the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, former suitors – PSG and Chelsea – in the queue for his services.

Details of the break clause show he will be only be available for big clubs in Europe should they come for him in January 2025 with the doors to Saudi Arabia closed.
