The decision comes after authorities issued warnings against all non-essential travel in the region, with the weather agency AEMET issuing a red alert in eastern Valencia due to the effects of storm Dana.

Firefighters have been carrying out rescue operations to help individuals trapped in floodwaters.

Valencia released a statement on Tuesday, stating, “The club considers that [postponement] is the most appropriate measure due to the serious consequences of Dana that we are experiencing in the province of Valencia.”

Meanwhile, the RFEF later confirmed the postponement of the match, showing understanding for the situation caused by the extreme weather events in the area.

Previously, Copa del Rey games featuring Valencia and Levante were postponed due to the storm’s severe disruptions.

Valencia, who are bottom of the league, are scheduled to host Real Madrid on Saturday, November 2nd.
