‘I’m coming for you all’, says Ibrahimovic as he recovers from COVID-19

AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recovered from COVID-19.

The footballer made it known via his social media pages on Friday.

“Do you feel better!

“Health authorities warned, the quarantine is over. You can go out!,” he wrote on his Twitter page.

The result of the 39-year-old returned positive on September 24, prompting him to tweet: “I tested negative for Covid yesterday and positive today.”

It was gathered that in the clubs’ latest round of the testing last week, AC Milan’s players all returned negative tests apart from defender Leo Duarte and Ibrahimovic before the Sweden international confirmed he has recovered.

Having recovered from the dreaded virus, Ibrahimovic will be available for the Milan derby, which takes place on October 17. The Serie A season will resume the same date after the international break.

Milan confirm’s Ibrahimovic’s recovery

AC Milan also later officially announced that the 38-year-old has finished his quarantine period.

“AC Milan announce that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested negative in two consecutive swab tests.

“ATS have been informed of the recovery and confirms the end of the quarantine,” the club wrote in a statement.

From his comment on his social media, it is expected that the Swedish will be back to good form in the derby. Milan fans will see if he is really coming for his opponents in days to come.

Inter Milan has four positive cases

Meanwhile, four Inter Milan players have tested positive in the latest round of tests. They include Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar, Radja Nainggolan and Roberto Gagliardini. They are therefore likely to be ruled out of the Milan derby.

“FC Internazionale Milano announce that Roberto Gagliardini and Radja Nainggolan tested positive for COVID-19 following checks carried out at Appiano Gentile in recent days.

“Ionut Radu also tested positive this morning, after tests carried out yesterday. Further checks are scheduled for tomorrow.”

Apart from the four first team players, two players in Italy’s U21 squad and a member of their backroom staff also tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of their game away to Iceland on Friday.

This led to the postponement of the game, as part of safety precaution.
