Lionel Messi and his teammates continue to lead the Major League Soccer payroll after a surge in MLS salary by 9.7%.

Former Paris Saint-Germain attacker Messi is the highest-paid player in American Major League soccer. 

Messi, who is under contract with Inter Miami until 2025, has been guaranteed a payment of $20.5 million.

Previously, it was revealed that Messi’s total salary was $50 million, which includes the league Apple TV deal. 

Messi’s yearly income is bigger than the entire payroll of the other 22 Major League soccer teams. 

The second highest-paid player in Major League Soccer is Lorenzo Insigne, who currently plays for the Toronto Football Club.

The former Napoli attacker earns $15.4 million. Previously, the attacker was earning a yearly income of $7.5 million. 

The third player on the list is former Barcelona star Sergio Busquets, who earns a yearly income of $8.8 million. 

In addition, the midfielder earns a weekly wage of $163,461.

The next player on the list of highest-paid players in Major League Soccer is Sebastian Driussi. The Argentine earns a yearly income of $6.7 million.

Previously, the Argentine earned a yearly income of $4,500,000. Driussi has made a positive impact on Austin FC in Major League Soccer.

Toronto FC star Federico Bernardeschi is the fifth highest-paid player in the MLS. The 30-year-old Italian earns a yearly income of $6.3 million. 

Bernardeschi was previously earning $3.125 million. However, there was a surge in salary because of the player’s performance.

Emil Forsberg is the sixth highest-paid player in American Major League Soccer.

The Swedish star who plays for the New York Red Bulls earns a yearly income of $6 million.

Previously, the Swedish attacker earned a yearly income of $5.4 million playing for the New York Red Bulls.

Houston Dynamo star Hector Herrera earns a whopping $5.3 million a year.

The Mexican previously earned $4.7 million every year before the Houston Dynamo team went ahead to increase his salary.

The 29-year-old German superstar earns a yearly income of $5.2 million.

The 2023-24 Major League Soccer highest goal scorer, Christian Benteke, who plays for DC United, earns a yearly wage of $4.7 million.

Former Barcelona youngster Riqui Puig, who currently plays for the LA Galaxy, falls in the 10th place of the highest paid player in Major League Soccer.
