The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced the highly anticipated nominees for the men’s categories of the CAF Awards 2024.

The CAF Awards 2024 recognize exceptional performances by African footballers between January and October 2024.

Ten outstanding players have been shortlisted for the coveted CAF African Player of the Year award, alongside ten nominees for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year.

Among the nominees for the CAF African Player of the Year are two outstanding Nigerian players, Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong, while South African Williams has been nominated in three categories.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for several categories in the upcoming awards ceremony.

Among the nominees are ten contenders for the prestigious titles of Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year.

In addition to these categories, the CAF Young Player of the Year award will feature ten rising stars under the age of 21.

The African Goalkeeper of the Year category has also returned, with ten exceptional goalkeepers nominated for their outstanding performance throughout the year.

The winners in each category will be chosen based on votes from a varied panel, which includes the CAF Technical Committee, media experts, and the Head Coaches & Captains of Member Associations, as well as clubs taking part in the group rounds of Interclub competitions.

Who is the current holder of the CAF Player of the Year Award?

Former Napoli and Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen was named the CAF African Player of the Year in 2023.

In the women’s category, Nigerian sensation Asisat Oshoala earned the title of CAF African Women’s Player of the Year.
