Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has continued his brilliant start to the season with Manchester United.

The 26-year-old Cameroon shot-stopper has won Manchester United Player of the Month following his standout performances.

He also won the Premier League Save of the Month for his terrific stop during Manchester United’s clash with Crystal Palace in September 2024.

Andre Onana’s performances in September for Manchester United

Onana started in goal as Manchester United collapsed to a 3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool on September 1, 2024.

He kept a clean sheet in the second match against Southampton, helping the team to a 3-0 victory.

In the third match against Crystal Palace on September 21, 2024, Onana starred as Manchester United shared spoils with the Eagles. He kept his second consecutive clean sheet in the game.

Andre Onana wins Premier League Save of the Month

Apart from his overall stats and contributions to the team in September, Onana put up a series of standout performances for United in the month. His most notable performance was during the match against Crystal Palace.

The Cameroonian stole the spotlights for heroic goalkeeping that saw United escape with a point at Selhurst Park. His biggest stop in the game was a stunning double save against Eddie Nketiah and Ismaila Sarr.

Nketiah had fired a long-range strike on goal, which he stopped on his line, but the rebound fell on a platter for Ismaila Sarr. Sarr wasted no time following up again with another strike but Onana was agile enough to dive and produce another save to keep United in the game.

The moment of brilliance didn’t go unnoticed as he was nominated for the Premier League Save for the Month and has clinched the award.

It is his first award in the Premier League and one that has shown the former Inter Milan goalie is gradually acing his game in the English top flight.

Andre Onana has the most Premier League clean sheets this season

Onana’s recent honors caps what has been a remarkable run by the former Ajax goalie this season.

He is currently tied with Alisson Becker with the highest number of clean sheets -four – this season and is tipped to lead the race for the 2024-25 Golden Glove award.

Notably, Andre Onana’s prolific start to the 2024-25 campaign is becoming more of a surprise after his terrible start to life with the Old Trafford club last season.

Joining the club from Inter Milan to replace former United legendary goalkeeper David De Gea, Onana struggled for form, dropping stinkers week in and week out.

He conceded 10 goals in his first four Premier League games and was lampooned by United fans for his sub-par deliveries. However, it appears he has put aside his poor debut campaign and is set for a new brilliant chapter with the club.

He will be expected to play a big role as United battle to return to form after a poor start to the season.
