What Will Success Be For England Under Thomas Tuchel?

Tuchel has his work cut out for him, as he will have to eclipse the achievements of the last permanent boss of England, Gareth Southgate, who led England to the final of the UEFA European Championship on two occasions (2020 and 2024).

What Does This News Mean for Interim Boss Lee Carsley?

Tuchel’s appointment as England gaffer means Lee Carsley would remain in interim charge for their UEFA Nations League matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland in November 2024.

However, he will return to handle the U21 after those matches, having been given the opportunity to lead the senior men’s national team of England in an interim capacity since August 2024.

Carsley was thought to have been considered for the job but the Englishman’s lack of clarity regarding his ambitions had reignited rumors over the position in recent days.

Lee Carsley has managed England in 4 matches thus far, securing 3 victories and losing 1 game.
