Germany attacker Kai Havertz will miss out in the nation’s upcoming matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands, according to an official report.

Arsenal’s impressive start to the Premier League season has been dampened by the news that in-form star Kai Havertz will miss Germany’s upcoming international matches due to a knee problem.

The 25-year-old former Blues attacker has been instrumental in Arsenal’s unbeaten run, scoring four Premier League goals already this term.

Meanwhile, his versatility and goal-scoring prowess were on full display in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Southampton in the Premier League.

Havertz was initially called up for Germany’s crucial matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands.

However, the German Football Federation has announced his withdrawal from the squad due to knee problems.

The German Federation confirmed the news on their official X account, wishing Havertz a speedy recovery: “Kai Havertz will miss the upcoming international matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands due to knee problems.”

Meanwhile, Jonathan Burkardt has been drafted into Julian Nagelsmann’s squad as Kai Havertz’s replacement.

The German Football Federation added: “National coach Julian Nagelsmann nominated Jonathan Burkardt in Havertz’s place. Get well soon, Kai! We look forward to seeing you, Jonathan!”

Renowned Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the reports on his X account, providing further confirmation of Havertz’s withdrawal from Germany’s squad.

Romano wrote: “OFFICIAL: German Federation inform that Kai Havertz will be out of the upcoming games against Bosnia and the Netherlands with knee problem.”

“He will be assessed by #AFC staff in the next days and won’t travel with the national team.”

Kai Havertz join Arsenal’s injury list

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is facing a growing injury crisis, with Havertz joining club captain Martin Odegaard on the sidelines.

Odegaard has been out since suffering an ankle injury during the last international break, and his return date remains uncertain.

Interestingly, the Gunners have received some positive news, however, with the return of former Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus.

Gabriel Jesus started against Southampton, providing a much-needed attacking boost. His presence alleviates Arteta’s worry over Havertz’s grueling injury.

As it stands, the extent of Havertz’s knee issue is currently unknown, leaving Arsenal fans anxiously awaiting further updates.

As the international break approaches, Arteta will be hoping for a swift recovery to ensure Kai Havertz’s availability for the club’s upcoming fixtures.

What’s next?

Kai Havertz will not be in action when Germany play Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 11 and the Netherlands on October 14.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have a busy schedule ahead with seven games in three weeks, including matches against Bournemouth, Newcastle United, Burnley, and Brentford in the Premier League, a Carabao Cup game against Preston, and Champions League matches with Shakhtar Donetsk and Inter Milan.

Despite Arsenal not playing until Saturday, October 19, the club’s medical team is working to get Havertz back in shape and assessed for potential inclusion in upcoming matches.

Arsenal fans can only anticipate a positive medical report.
