Saka’s performance on the pitch was matched by his enthusiasm off it, as he eagerly engaged with McGregor’s post-match.

The 36-year-old MMA icon, who is a self-proclaimed football enthusiast was granted VIP access to the pitch after the final whistle.

McGregor was there to promote his Irish stout ‘Forged’ after his team reached out to Alvaro Canas.

McGregor joined Saka and Declan Rice for an impromptu kickabout, showcasing his football skills.

The Arsenal forward backed off as McGregor unleashed shadow kicks and punches, leaving Saka cowering.

Spotting that Bukayo Saka was reluctant to join the tussle, McGregor quickly stopped while laughing, hugged the England international winger and apologised.

However, the brief and subtle interaction between Saka and McGregor was a humble reminder that there is a sense of connection among all sports and athletes.

So far this season, the 23-year-old Saka has netted two goals and five assists in all competitions for the Gunners.

With their Champions League win over PSG, Arsenal continues to build momentum. Saka and his teammates will aim to extend their winning streak against Southampton, solidifying their position in the Premier League.

Arsenal to be without six players against Southampton

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is looking forward to the return of several players as the second international break approaches.

Ben White and Jurrien Timber are among those he hopes will be fit for the upcoming match against Southampton.

Also, Takehiro Tomiyasu is a potential miss out as he’s nearing full fitness.

Unfortunately, Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko are still sidelined due to injuries.

Furthermore, Martin Odegaard is also out as he works on recovering from a foot issue.

Over Martin, Mikel Arteta admitted that it is very difficult to give a return date for him.

Arteta admitted on Friday, October 4: “I expected still with the boot and a lot of things but he’s working so hard and he’s feeling good and he’s pushing it. So difficult to give a timeline.”
