Bruno Fernandes has broken his silence after he was sent off in the 3-3 draw involving Porto and Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League.
Fernandes touched on the struggles of the Old Trafford side since the commencement of the 2024/25 season, whilst sharing that he is disappointed with how he has fared this term.
Bruno Fernandes also indicated that he has faced challenges all through his career, but he has never at any point in time remained silent or chickened out from responsibilities during tough times.
The 30-year-old also tagged Manchester United’s recent travails as one of the hardest he has battled since joining the English giants from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, for a fee of €65 million.

Fernandes took to his Instagram account to pour out his heart, whilst also appreciating everyone that has supported him during this trying time.
Bruno Fernandes wrote: “Tough moment as a team and personally for me, one of the hardest. Almost 5 years at the club with ups and downs, good and bad moments.
“Personally, I have always had challenges and adversities throughout my career and something that’s never happened was that I go silent or hide myself from responsibilities in difficult moments.
“I know it sounds cliche and most of you United fans will be tired of it, but no one is more disappointed than myself with my own moment.
“Even though this moment, I appreciate all of you who had positive messages of belief in me and the team 🙏🏼”
Manchester United have endured a turbulent start to the 2024/25 season, winning only 3 out of 9 matches played across all competitions.
Despite the signing of Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, and Manuel Ugarte in the summer of 2024, their fortunes haven’t improved.
This has resulted in much criticism of the players, with boss Erik ten Hag also facing the possibility of being fired in the coming weeks if results don’t improve.

Fernandes, who was born on September 8, 1994, has won the Carabao Cup alongside the FA Cup since joining Manchester United in 2020.
He has made 243 appearances for the Old Trafford side, scoring 79 goals and providing 70 assists across all competitions.
Bruno Fernandes is married to his childhood darling Ana Pinho, whom he tied the knot with in 2015, and they have two children together: 7-year-old daughter Matilde, who was born on January 30, 2017, and a son named Goncalo, who is currently 5 years old. He was born on September 6, 2020.

The Old Trafford side played out a 1-1 draw with Twente in their first game in the competition this term, before settling for a 3-3 stalemate with Porto.
Erik ten Hag’s side sit 21st on the table, having secured 2 points from 2 matches with a goal difference of 0.
Meanwhile, they return to action on October 6, 2024, with a Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
