Kevin De Bruyne has excused himself from national team duties until 2025, Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco has revealed.
Tedesco shared that De Bruyne has asked not to be selected amongst the Red Devils contingent for their upcoming matches in October and November 2025.

Kevin De Bruyne has taken this route to manage his fitness, having nursed several injuries in recent years.
The 33-year-old has been absent from Manchester City’s past four fixtures following a thigh problem which he sustained in their 0-0 draw with Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on September 18, 2024.
De Bruyne, who is expected to return to action with the Cityzens after the October international break, will be unavailable for Belgium’s Nations League matches against Italy and France on October 10 and October 14, 2024.
Kevin De Bruyne will also be absent from the Red Devils matches on November 14 and 17 against Italy and Israel.
Revealing the reason for the decision to exclude De Bruyne from Belgium’s upcoming games, Domenico Tedesco expressed that he had a lengthy conversation with the Belgian before arriving at it.
The 39-year-old said: “I had a long phone conversation with Kevin. He has asked to skip this camp and also November, to be able to take care of his body.
“The schedule has become even busier due to the World Cup for clubs. That is why he is not there now and in November. But when it really counts – the World Cup – he will be there.”
