    Graham Potter has revealed what he has been up to since he was dismissed by Chelsea in April 2023.

    What Has Graham Potter Been Involved With Since Leaving Chelsea?

    Potter shared that he has largely been spending time and bonding with his family, whilst touching on his managerial career journey thus far.

    He said: “It has been deliberate, to be honest – spend some time with the family, connect with them after a 12-year journey which starts in the fourth tier of Swedish football and ends in the last eight of the Champions League.

    “It’s a journey that doesn’t come for free. It’s nice to be able to spend some time with them and connect with them, and see what the journey brings.”

    Graham Potter also expressed how he handled the first major setback in his managerial career, having been fired by the Blues in April 2023 as aforementioned.

    The Englishman admitted that he felt disappointed leaving Chelsea, but he took it as an opportunity to grow and improve.

    Potter indicated his gratitude for the opportunity to manage the Stamford Bridge club alongside the experience he has gained, before pointing out that it was “tough and challenging” handling the Blues.

    Speaking regarding his departure from Chelsea on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show, Graham Potter said: “It’s never nice to lose your job. In the end, you have to treat it as a learning experience and an opportunity to grow and improve. 

    “Grateful for the opportunity and experience. It was tough and challenging, but there were highlights as well.”

    Graham Potter Keen On Returning To Football Management “Stronger”

    Additionally, Graham Potter emphasized that he is concerned about coming back stronger to football management and not blaming himself or everybody else for how things panned out at Chelsea.

    The ex-Brighton boss added: “It’s about putting it into perspective, not trying to blame yourself completely but not trying to blame everybody else either. It’s about finding the balance, reflecting, and coming back stronger.”

    Chelsea appointed Potter as manager in September 2022 on a five-year deal, following the dismissal of German tactician Thomas Tuchel in the same month.

    Chelsea experienced a disastrous phase in the Englishman’s spell as manager, with the 49-year-old leaving the team 11th on the Premier League table.

    The London-based side also led the Blues to the quarter-final of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League before he was booted out in April 2023.
