Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is leading the list of the most valuable footballers on loan in the 2024-25 season in Europe.

The prolific Napoli forward was the hottest transfer topic in the 2024-25 summer transfer window. Osimhen was linked to a move to Chelsea and Al-Ahli but could not seal a deadline-day move to either of the two clubs.

Most valuable footballers on loan

Notably, Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan till the end of the season following the deadline-day deadlock. He is the most valuable player on loan with an estimated market value of €100m, per Transfermarkt.

Other top footballers on loan transfers this summer are listed below:

Xavi Simon

Dutch prolific attacking midfielder Xavi Simon is second on the list of the most valuable footballers on loan in the ongoing campaign.

Xavi Simons has a market value of €80m. Simons joined RB Leipzig on loan from PSG in the 2023-24 season. He has been retained on another season-long loan deal after an impressive debut last season.

Giorgi Mamardashvili

The Georgian shot-stopper comes third on the list. Mamardashvili is reportedly worth €45M. The shot-stopper was signed by Liverpool from Valencia for the fee of €30M, a deal that would see him stay in Spain on loan for the remainder of the season and move to Anfield officially at the end of the season.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling is another ranking player on the list of most valuable loanees this summer. The high-flying England international is worth €35m.

A loan deal that would see Sterling move from Chelsea to Arsenal for €6m was agreed between the two clubs on deadline day. There is no buy option with the player set to return to Chelsea at the end is the season. Sterling left Chelsea after the club’s new boss, Enzo Maresca, deemed the winger surplus to requirement.

Nico Gonzalez

Next on the list is the Argentine talented winger Nico Gonzalez, who has a market value of €35m. Juventus, under new boss Thiago Motta, signed Nico Gonzalez on a loan deal from Fiorentina till the end of the ongoing campaign. There is a buy option attached, but the Turin-based outfit will pay €28m if they want to make it permanent.

Nayef Aguerd makes list of most valuable footballers on loan

Nayef Aguerd has also made the list of the most valuable footballers on loan this summer. The Morocco international is valued at €35m, per Transfermarkt.

Following the departure of Le Normand, Real Sociedad signed Aguerd from West Ham on loan to serve as a direct replacement for the Spanish centre-back. The one-season loan deal without an option to buy cost Real Sociedad €2m.

Jean-Clair Todibo

Jean-Clair Todibo also makes the list. The France international has an estimated market value of €35m. He is one of the many stars signed by West Ham as they look to strengthen their squad going into the new season. The 24-year-old joins the Hammers from Ligue 1 club OGC Nice on a season-long loan. A buyout option which could be activated with €32m in the summer of 2025 has been attached to the deal.

Odilon Kossounou

The young Ivorian centre-back is reportedly worth €35m. Kossounou completed a move from Bayern Leverkusen to Italian side Atalanta, with a loan deal until June 30, 2025. There is an option to make the transfer permanent.

The 23-year-old Ivorian defender won the CAF African Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast and the Bundesliga title with Bayer Leverkusen last season.

Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham is also on our list of the most valuable footballers on loan this summer. The English striker has a transfer value of €30m.

AC Milan agreed to a loan deal with AS Roma that saw Tammy Abraham move from the Stadio Olimpico to San Siro. The deal saw AC Milan part with €1.5m to secure the services of the player.

James Ward-Prowse

Ex-Southampton star James Ward-Prowse also finds himself on the list of the most valuable players on loan. The England international is valued at €30m.

Ward-Prowse joined Nottingham Forest on a loan deal from West Ham after falling down the pecking order at West Ham. The loan, which would see Ward-Prowse be at Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season, reportedly cost the London club £12.6m.

Albert Gudmundsson

Finally, Iceland International also completes the list, being valued at €30m.The agreement between Fiorentina and Genoa for the midfielder involves a loan deal initially costing around €8 million, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season contingent on certain performance criteria. The total cost of the transfer could rise to approximately €28.5 million, including potential add-ons.
