The 2024 summer transfer window has been a wild ride for the German Bundesliga, with top clubs splashing the cash to strengthen their squads.

These blockbuster deals have set the stage for an exciting Bundesliga season and futballnews have compiled the top 10 done deals that have shaken up the league.

2024 Top ten deals in Bundesliga

1. Michael Olise to Bayern Munich (€53 million)

Crystal Palace’s young star joins the Bavarian giants on a five-year deal.
Olise joined Crystal Palace on 8 July 2021, signing a five-year deal after his £8.37 million release clause was activated.

He made his mark as the youngest Premier League scorer for Palace since 1998, scoring in a 2-2 draw against Leicester City on 3 October 2021.

Despite facing injury challenges, he ended the season with an impressive ten goals and six assists in just 19 appearances.

On 7 July 2024, Bayern Munich announced the signing of Olise from Crystal Palace on a five-year contract until 30 June 2029, for a reported transfer fee of €60m with add-ons.

2. Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich (€51 million)

Fulham’s Joao Palhinha midfield maestro makes the switch to Munich on a four-year deal.

Palhinha is renowned for being a dominant ball-winning midfielder and recording the highest number of tackles.

In 2021, he set a record for the most tackles with 185 during his time with Sporting, contributing to 32 appearances and helping the club secure their first domestic league title in 19 years.

Throughout his tenure with Sporting, he played a total of 95 official matches, scoring seven goals and earning four trophies with the team, including a Primeira Liga championship, two Taças da Liga, and a Supertaca Candido de Oliveira. He briefly played for Fulham after leaving Sporting in 2022.

Meanwhile, in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, he led all players in tackles, recording 147 and 154 respectively.

On July 11, 2024, Palhinha signed a four-year contract with Bayern Munich for €51 million.

3. Hiroki Ito to Bayern Munich (€30 million)

Ito made a significant impact after joining Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart in June 2021, scoring his first Bundesliga goal in a victory over Mainz.

In May 2022, VfB Stuttgart secured his services by exercising a purchase option, extending his contract until June 2025.

However, on June 13, 2024, VfB Stuttgart’s Japanese sensation joined Bayern Munich on a four-year deal until 2028 after the club activated his release clause of around €30 million.

4. Maximilian Beier to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund (€29.5 million)

After a successful loan at Hannover 96, Beier returned to Hoffenheim for the 2023-24 season and was named the club’s top scorer with 16 goals.

He then made a big move to Borussia Dortmund on 12 August 2024, signing a five-year contract with the Bundesliga club.

5. Ermedin Demirović to VfB Stuttgart (€21 million)

Demirovic signed a four-year contract with VfB Stuttgart from Augsburg on July 11, 2024 after impressing at Hamburger SV, Leipzig, Alavés, and SC Freiburg.

6. Aleix Garcia to Bundesliga Champions Bayer Leverkusen (€18 million)

Garcia made a total of 45 appearances for Girona and played a key role in helping them achieve promotion to La Liga during the playoffs when he returned to the club in 2021.

He made history on 26 February 2023 by scoring the opening goal in Girona’s 3-2 La Liga victory over Athletic Bilbao, marking the club’s first-ever away win against Bilbao at San Mamés.

After a successful season with Girona, Garcia transferred to Bayer 04 Leverkusen for a transfer fee exceeding €18 million on 13 June 2024.

7. Serhou Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund (€18 million)

Stuttgart’s top scorer, Guirassy, joined Dortmund on a four-year deal from Stuttgart on 18 July 2024. Guirassy claimed the title of top African goal scorer in the 2023-24 Bundesliga season as recognized by African Folder.

In the last game of the season, he scored two goals for VfB Stuttgart in their 4-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach, concluding the season with a total of 28 goals in 28 matches, trailing only behind Harry Kane.

8. Martin Terrier to Bundesliga Champions Bayer Leverkusen (€20 million)

Terrier has a strong track record in Ligue 1, having played well over 200 games and netting more than 60 goals for Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, and Rennes.

This impressive resume caught the attention of Bayer Leverkusen, who confirmed on 18 July 2024 that they had secured Terrier’s services from Stade Rennes on a five-year deal for a fee believed to be in the region of €20 million.

9. Lutsharel Geertruida to RB Leipzig (€20 million)

Geertruida participated in the UEFA Conference League final on 25 May 2022, where Feyenoord suffered a 1-0 defeat to Roma.

However, he played a crucial role in the team’s Eredivisie title victory in the 2022/23 season.

On 30 August 2024, Geertruida made a transfer to Bundesliga team RB Leipzig, signing a five-year contract with the German club.

10. Deniz Undav to VfB Stuttgart (€26.7 million)

Undav first joined Stuttgart from Brighton on loan for the 2023/24 season. In his first Bundesliga campaign, he impressed by scoring 18 goals and contributing 9 assists, helping his team to a second-place finish and clinching Champions League qualification for the first time in over a decade.

On 9 August 2024, after a successful loan stint, Undav made his move to VfB Stuttgart permanently by signing a three-year contract.
