Leicester City striker, Jamie Vardy has proved again to a be a thorn in the flesh of Manchester City after bagging his second hattrick against them in the 5-2 hammering at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Vardy scooped last season’s Premier League golden ball award to become first Leicester City player to ever won it.

He began his hat trick by restoring parity for the lactic from the penalty spot after being felled by Kyle Walker. He then gave the visitors the lead after he had cleverly turned home Timothy Castagne’s cross. He completed his second treble against City from the spot again after Eric Garcia fell James Maddison in the box again.

Jamie Vardy brings Leicester City level from the spot

Vardy had scored a hat trick against City in 2016 season of the league at the King Power Stadium. He has now repeated the feat at the Etihad. He would have even scored four if he had stayed on the pitch for another three minutes.

Vardy becomes the second player to achieve such feat. It is only Lionel Messi that has succeeded in scoring a hat trick against Pep Guardiola’s Man City so far.

James Maddison later took the game beyond the hosts, scoring his first goal since 1 January when he curled home a stunning fourth for Leicester.

£40m summer signing from Bournemouth, Nathan Ake pulled one back to score his City’S first goal.

But Leicester would get a third penalty and it was converted by Youri Tielemans because Vardy had already gone off.
