Manchester United are reportedly on the brink of signing Moroccan right-back Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
According to reports, the Red Devils have reached a verbal agreement with the player after his potential move to West Ham fell through.
Both the club and the player are said to be eager to reach an agreement, and it seems that they have now done so.
Meanwhile, Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Mazraoui has agreed personal terms with United, indicating that a deal is likely to be finalized soon.
Romano wrote on X (previously Twitter): “Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Noussair Mazraoui days ago, he wants the move… and he has the same agent as de Ligt.”
“No issues on the agreement with Bayern, but the deal still depends on Man United to find a solution for Wan-Bissaka. Mazraoui, patiently waiting.”
Mazraoui, who has been with Bayern Munich since 2018, is expected to provide valuable reinforcement to United’s defense.
The 24-year-old is known for his attacking prowess as well as his defensive abilities, making him a versatile addition to the team.
Manchester United to offload Wan-Bissaka to secure Noussair Mazraoui
Meanwhile, Manchester United are looking to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka to make room for a move for Noussair Mazraoui, with West Ham showing interest in the right-back.
The initial €20 million package that was in place with West Ham fell through due to issues regarding Wan-Bissaka’s agent’s fee.
According to the reports, talks between the Red Devils and the Hammers have been ongoing and it is expected that an agreement will be reached soon.
Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace for £50 million in 2019 but has struggled to replicate his early success at Old Trafford.
He has since made 190 appearances but entered the final year of his contract this summer.
West Ham is now in talks with United over personal terms for the right-back, as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
Noussair Mazraoui has once played under Erik Ten Hag
Mazraoui has completed two seasons with Bayern since transferring from Ajax to the German club in 2022.
Before his move, he played under United manager Erik ten Hag in the Netherlands. During his time with Ten Hag, the 26-year-old made 137 appearances and earned six trophies, including three Eredivisie titles.
If he joins the English club, Mazraoui would be Manchester United’s third signing of the summer, following the acquisitions of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
What’s next?
While fans anticipate Noussair Mazraoui and Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s fate, they can expect an exciting display of football as United looks to fine-tune their skills ahead of the upcoming season.
