West London club Chelsea have reportedly sent an opening bid worth €20 million for Villarreal shot stopper Filip Jorgensen.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper has both domestic and international experience with Villarreal, and it was revealed that Chelsea have entered talks to sign the shot-stopper before the end of the transfer window.
However, Villarreal are still in discussion with Chelsea over the transfer fee because they are not under pressure to sell the Danish goalkeeper to Chelsea. The goalkeeper has a release clause of €45 million.
Jorgensen is keen on moving to the West London club and is likely to become Maresca’s number one when he joins Chelsea.
Even though Chelsea have two excellent goalkeepers, Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic, they are still well in the transfer market for another shot stopper going into the transfer window.
Chelsea signed Sanchez from Brighton to fill in the gap left by Edouard Mendy, who left the club for Saudi Arabia Pro League.
Chelsea proceeded to sign another goalkeeper, Petrovic, from the American Major League Soccer after Sanchez suffered a horrible injury in December 2023.
Petrovic has not convinced Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, that he is ready to be the number one player at the club, with Kepa Arrizabalaga looking forward to leaving Chelsea to join Real Madrid.

These two goalkeepers are likely to consider their future at Stamford Bridge. Maresca, who is the new manager of the club, will start Jorgensen over the two players.
Petrovic will go down the pecking order when the season starts. Sanchez is likely to be made a second-choice for the club.
These two goalkeepers may consider a move away from the club if they fail to get into the starting XI.
