Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly held talks with Inter Milan over the transfer of Slovakian defender, Milan Skrinia.
kye Sports reports that the Serie A side wants around €60m (£54.9m) for the 25-year-old. However, a source said that Spurs value Skriniar at half of Inter’s asking price.
The centre-back has fallen out of favour under Inter boss Antonio Conte, who is looking to cash in on him and reinvest the money to developing the squad.
Inter’s major reinforcement so far as been Achraf Hakimi, Aleksandar Kolarov and Arturo Vidal.
The clubs are not even close in their valuation of the Slovakia international. But Spurs technical performance director Steve Hitchen was sighted in Milan on Wednesday. It is believed that he is there to negotiate a deal with the San Siro giant.
Tottenham needs to sell to raise funds for any potential transfer
With many clubs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Spurs is not left out. They have been financially constrained to sell before buying.
Serge Aurier could be sold during the window to raise fund for the club’s target. The Ivorian is being courted by Spartak Moscow and believe they can agree a deal with Tottenham. Aurier however he wants to play in one of Europe’s top leagues.
AC Milan was initially interested in the right-back, but could not do a deal due to fiancial constraint. As it stands, Aurier will remain at Tottenham.
The summer transfer window closes at 11 pm on Monday, October 5. As usual, there will be a feast of activity to be witnessed from last deals on Transfer Deadline Day.
It should be noted that a domestic-only window for deals between the Premier League and EFL then runs from October 5 and closes on Friday October 16 at 5pm.
