Burnley have acquired the services of Scott Parker as the club’s new permanent manager, according to reports.

Parker is expected to become the successor to Vincent Kompany, who was confirmed as Bayern Munich boss in May 2024.

Scott Parker has in the past handled English sides like Fulham alongside Bournemouth, and he will be the one to take charge of the side for the foreseeable future.

The 43-year-old was last manager of Belgian side Club Brugge, but he was fired in March 2023, following a run of poor results.

Parker will be charged with the task of guiding Burnley back to the top flight after they were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Scott Parker has in the past helped Fulham gain promotion back to the English top-tier division during the 2019/20 season.

Unfortunately, he was relieved of his duty as manager of the Cottagers, after they were relegated to the Championship in the 2020/21 campaign.

Scott Parker was subsequently assistant manager at Fulham, under Italian legendary tactician Claudio Ranieri, who led Leicester City to win the Premier League in 2015.

Following the dismissal of Ranieri by the Craven Cottage side in February 2019, Parker was promoted to the managerial position and the Englishman was on the hot seat until he was fired in June 2021.

The 43-year-old was then appointed by Bournemouth in July 2021, before being ousted in August 2022.

Burnley

Meanwhile, Burnley commence the 2024/25 Championship season on Monday, August 12, 2024, with a clash against Luton Town, who were also relegated to the second tier in the 2023/24 campaign.

The Clarets will be aiming to start the campaign on a high, as they look to return to the Premier League.

Burnley have made 3 signings thus far in the 2024 summer transfer window, with Mike Trésor joining the club from Belgian side KRC Genk for a fee of €18 million.

Center-back Maxime Estève has also moved to Turf Moor from French side Montpellier for a fee of €12 million.
