Bayern Munich are on the brink of finalizing the signing of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha in a deal worth about €50 million, plus €4.9 million in add-ons.
Palhinha was close to moving to the Munich-based club in 2023 but the deal collapsed on deadline day.
The deal will be a club record sale for Fulham and it is coming barely days after manager Marco Silva turned down the opportunity to move to Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

Joao Palhinha is currently engaged in Euro 2024 action with Portugal, who will trade tackles with France in the quarter-finals of the competition.

He said: “He is still young but has experience at European and international level and we feel he will be a really positive addition to our squad.”
Reports indicate that Sheffield United “reluctantly accepted” a reported offer of €17 million for Ndiaye last summer, having 14 goals and 11 assists to help the Blades secure promotion from the Championship in 2022/23.
Iliman Ndiaye was signed from non-league side Boreham Wood in 2019, with the young striker having spent time with the Marseille academy before heading to Senegal, the country where his father was born.
