UEFA’s Hammer Falls On The Eagles

Moreover, Serbia have been punished for breaking UEFA rules in their opening game against England on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

They were fined cumulatively €14,500 for their actions – with €4,500 being for their fans throwing objects onto the pitch, while another €10,000 was for them “transmitting a provocative message not fit for a sports event.”

England currently sit at the summit of Group C with 4 points from 2 matches, 2 points behind Denmark and Slovenia, who are placed 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Their last group game in the 2024 European Championship will take place simultaneously with that of Gareth Southgate’s side on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, by 08:00 PM (WAT).

Notably at the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund, fans of Turkey and Georgia were also seen trading blows ahead of kick-off.

German cops were called to action before activities at the stadium returned to normalcy on a rainy date in Dortmund, with concerns over the game being postponed also mooted.

Anyway, the encounter went on as scheduled, and Turkey defeated an unlucky Georgia by 3-2.

It will be interesting to see if UEFA will release a statement regarding the recent fight between Serbian fans and the black man, who was forced out of a train dishearteningly.

It is difficult to tell if what occurred in the footage was simply due to racism or basically down to one party brawling with the other due to other unknown reasons.

Definitely, the difference in skin colour will be spotlighted, as footballing enthusiasts continue to wonder about the exact reason for the incident.

Serbia occupy the 33rd spot on the FIFA rankings and they parade some notable names, including; Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic, Al Hilal duo of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Aleksandar Mitrovic, alongside Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus and AC Milan’s Luka Jovic.
