Cole Palmer has been Chelsea’s poster boy since his £42.5m move from Manchester City to the London outfit in the summer.

Away from his near-deadlock at Etihad, the England youngster has aced his game perfectly on his debut season with Chelsea, and has dominated the headlines.

Most striking was his record-breaking four-goal haul for Chelsea in the Blues‘ 6-0 win over Everton in the weekend.

We reported earlier that the English attacking sensation broke five club and Premier League records after the four-goal haul and took his Premier League tally this season to 20 goals – level with former teammate Erling Haaland on the Premier League topscorers’ chart this season.

Palmer’s prolific and impressive debut run with Chelsea is a stark contrast to his nightmare spell with Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

The Manchester City Academy graduate made only 4 Premier League appearances after his breakout into Man City’s first team in the 2021/22 season, made 14 Premier League appearances last season, and managed only one appearance before leaving for Chelsea.

In his 19 Premier League appearances for the Cityzens, he recorded no goal or assist, and was struggling for game time in the star-studded squad.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, the tides have turned with the 21-year-old breaking the barriers with a stellar run.

Obviously, Palmer has been a revelation at Chelsea and an envy of other Premier League outfits, including his former club City.

When asked whether he has regretted selling Palmer to Chelsea, Pep Guardiola responded in the negative, revealing he had no regrets about selling the youngster as it was his (Palmer’s) decision to leave due to lack of game time.

“He’s an exceptional player when he was here. I said many times, I didn’t give the minutes that maybe he deserved and now he has at Chelsea. I understand completely,” he said.

“He’s a shy guy with a lot of potential. It is what it is. He’s playing fantastic so what can I say, the decision has been made for many reasons.

Cole Palmer will be in action again for Chelsea as the Blues take on his former club City in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday. He shone for Chelsea in the Blues’ 4-4 draw with the Premier League champions, scoring a late equaliser from the spot against the former side.
