Unai Emery’s average point per game at Emirates Stadium is better than that of Mikel Arteta and legendary manager Arsene Wenger.

The 52-year-old manager led his side to a 2-0 win against 2023/24 Champions League quarterfinalist Arsenal.

The Aston Villa win strengthened their grip on the Premier League top four and also reduced Arsenal’s chance of lifting the Premier League at the end of the season.

It was a beautiful three points, given that many considered Unai Emery to be a failure during his tenure at Arsenal.

Despite failing to win a single trophy in his 18 months in charge of the North London team, he still has more points per game than the current Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, and the icon, Arsene Wenger.

After his win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, the manager’s average point has increased to 2.26 points per game. Arsene Wenger’s average point per game was 2.22, and Mikel Arteta had 2.11.

Emery’s percentage win at Aston Villa now sits above Arsene Wenger’s at Arsenal. Emery has a percentage win of 57.33 compared to Arsene Wenger’s 57.2.

While he was at Arsenal, Unai Emery was unable to win anything, coupled with finishing in fifth place on the Premier League table in the 2018–19 season.

Arsene Wenger, whose Arsenal team moved from Highbury to the Emirates in 2006, won three league titles and seven FA Cups. He also reached the Champions League final, where they were eliminated by Barcelona in 2006.

Mikel Arteta won the FA Cup in 2020, and he proceeded to finish in 8th place in the Premier League table. In the 2022–22 season, he guided the club to a fifth-place finish and secured second place on the Premier League table in the 2022–23 season.

With six games to the end of the 2023–24 Premier League season, Arsenal currently sit in second place in the Premier League table, two points adrift of Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta is likely to end the season without a trophy, if he doesn’t win the rest of the matches this season.
