Rasmus Hojlund joined in the celebration after his former team, Atalanta, defeated Liverpool 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

The Manchester United star took to his social media page as he revealed his former club’s success against Manchester United arch rival, Liverpool.

Rasmus Hojlund posted a picture of the scoreline alongside the caption “Mola Mio” next to the image of a lion emoji.

The comment is a local saying for the Bergamo region, where the Atalanta team is situated. It means “Never Give Up.”

Also, it is a message of inspiration across the northern part of Italy.

The striker only spent a short time with the Serie A giant, scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances across club competitions. It was his impressive stats that caught the attention of Manchester United.

The Danish striker moved from Atalanta to Manchester United for a fee worth £70 million.

Atalanta stunned Liverpool at Anfield, with former West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca scoring two goals in the 3-0 win against Atalanta.

This result left Jurgen Klopp outraged and may be detrimental to Liverpool’s hope of ending with a treble. In addition, the Liverpool fans felt miserable as a sixth-placed Serie A side dominated them at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp now has a lot to do to ensure his team qualifies for the next round of the Europa League. Liverpool next Premier League encounter will be against Crystal Palace on April 14, 2024, at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp wants to stay in the title race until the end of the season. They are currently in second place on the Premier League table, with the same point as Arsenal.

However, Arsenal are above them due to their huge goal differences. The return of Alexander Arnold, Alisson, and Jota will boost the morale of the German manager, who is looking to end the season on a high note.

How Jurgen Klopp Reacted to the Surprising Defeat Against Atalanta in the Europa League

The Liverpool manager, who showed signs of frustration against Atalanta, revealed how displeased he was after losing at Anfield for the first time in 14 months.

Jurgen Klopp said, “We started well, really well, and then didn’t continue. They broke, they scored, and we just lost the plot a little bit. We were here and there in midfield; I didn’t recognize it.”

“It was really strange, but in football terms, it was tactical discipline. There was a big chance for Darwin Nunez, and then it was unlucky for Harvey, but they scored, and we kept playing into their hands.”

“We played a bad game, and we deserved to lose. We must feel that now, but we have exactly this night to feel bad about it, and then we have to build up for the palace.”
