Chelsea dropped another stinker performance against Sheffield United at the Bramall Lane in their Premier League matchday 30 clash
The Blues were expected to build on their win against United in mid-week as they travel to take on Sheffield United in Premier League Matchday 30 clash.
Conor Gallagher got the Blues off the mark, scoring just 11 minutes into the game to give the away side the lead.
Two minutes after the half-hour, Bogle scored the equaliser for the relegation battlers. The two teams went into the break with the score tied.
In the second half, Noni Madueke was on target for the Blues to make it 2-1. It was a near-victory for the away side as they crossed the regulation time still leading.
In the 3rd minute of stoppage time, Sheffield United bagged an unlikely equaliser. McBurnie latched on Archer’s assist to peg the West London outfit to a dramatic 2-2 draw.
It was another disappointing outing for the Pochettino-led side at Bramall Lane. Speaking after the game, Poch offered a downbeat assessment of his Chelsea side, insisting the team is not mature enough to compete every three days.
According to him, the draw against Sheffield United was a fair result.
The Argentine also added it will take time for the club to return to the ranks of the elite clubs in the English topflight.
“The draw today is a fair result, it’s correct.”
“This is a new team and we are learning. The process always takes time.
“It’s not a magic thing. It’s a project, a three or five-year process to build a team”.
“At 52, you identify really quickly whether the team is ready to compete or not”.
“Maybe this group is not mature enough to compete in games every three days.”
The Blues will return to Premier League action against Everton on Monday, April 15. They are 9th on the Premier League table with 44 points from 30 games, and are still hopeful of playing European football next season.
