Neymar can now face football for the French Champions after they suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to newcomers Lens in the League opener.

Paris Saint-Germain would need their talisman should they hope to reach the domestic successes they enjoyed last campaign.

While Neymar is back, the PSG faithful would hope French ace Kylian Mbappe and Argentine Angel di Maria join with the squad as soon as possible.

Since Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a record-breaking €222 million (£200m/$262m) in 2017, he has been subject to a move back to Barcelona, where he won the treble playing alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Neymar has, however, squashed all rumors about an exit when he spoke to PSG Le Mag, stating his intentions to remain in the French capital.

The 28-year-old said: “I am staying at PSG next season.

“I remain and with the ambition to return to the final of the Champions League, this time to win it. I like this idea of doing everything to leave my name in the history books of my club.”

After suffering a disappointing defeat to Bayern Munich in their first-ever Champions League final appearance, Paris Saint-Germain would hope to go a step further and clinch the title, and they would undoubtedly need their star player.

Neymar is contracted to PSG until 2022.
