Argentina had to move from Estadio Mas Monumental for the November international window just to give space to American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.

The American star has seen three of her concerts hosted at the River Plate stadium which forced Lionel Messi and his teammates to welcome Uruguay at La Bombonera.

Futballnews understands that Argentina do not have their own stadium, however, they have been using the Monumental as their traditionally home ground.

The Monumental recently underwent a massive renovation in the last few years and that saw it’s capacity grow massive to the tune of 86,000.

However, because Taylor Swift had three scheduled shows last weekend, the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) opted to move its venue with some reluctance.

Taylor Swift, who is a very popular American singer and songwriter, performed at the stadium on Nov. 9, 11, and 12 as part of her “Eras Tour.”

Unsurprisingly, the shows took a toll on the Monumental field and fortunately, AFA anticipated this would happen they made preparations for the change of venue with time.

Besides, it’s not the first time Lionel Scaloni’s World Cup winning team plays away from the Monumental – which has served as their home ground for year now.

Argentina had previously played at another stadium this year, despite the fact that this will be the first time they leave the Monumental in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

They played Curazao in the Estadio Madre de Ciudades in Santiago del Estero, in the country’s north, in March and it was their second game following their victory in Qatar 2022, and the team decided to celebrate outside of Buenos Aires as well.
