Neymar celebrated Al Hilal’s comfortable away league victory over Al Fateh from the hospital, as he continues to recover from an injury, that he sustained during international duty with Brazil.

The Brazilian was carted away on a stretcher in Brazil’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay after he tore his ACL and meniscus.

Neymar will be out of action for a lengthy period, possibly till the end of the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League season.

He is optimistic about recovering before the 2024 Copa America, which will be played in the United States Of America, but on current standings, it isn’t a certainty.

Neymar joined Al Hilal from Paris Saint Germain on August 15, 2023, for a fee of €90 million.

The 31-year-old arrived with much fanfare, and fans were expecting him to light up the Saudi Pro League with his electric performances.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t gone according to plan, as he has made only 5 appearances for the club since his arrival, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists in all competitions.

Al Hilal posted a picture of Neymar receiving medical care, and they captioned it with:

“Neymar is happy with the win” and they included a love emoji “💙” alongside it.

The most expensive signing in the history of the Saudi Pro League has battled injury issues in the past few seasons, and this has blighted his career in recent years.

During his time at Paris Saint Germain, Neymar also battled with injury issues, which saw him miss out on several matches.

In the 2022/23 season, vociferous fans of PSG also converged in front of the Frenchman’s home to air their grievances on his performances across the years.

He made 173 appearances for Paris Saint Germain, scoring 118 goals and providing 77 assists across all competitions.

The 31-year-old is also the all-time top scorer of Brazil, with 79 goals in 128 appearances.

Neymar has enjoyed a largely successful career, winning several trophies including; 5 La Liga titles, 1 UEFA Champions League, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.

Individually, the Brazilian has also won many awards, including; the 2 South American Footballer of the Year award.

He also became the first player to finish in the top 10 rankings for the Ballon d’Or, without having played in Europe.

Neymar finished 10th in the 2011 Ballon d’Or rankings, following an outstanding year with Santos aged 19.

Meanwhile, Al Hilal sit 1st on the Saudi Pro League table, with 32 points from 12 league matches.

They remain the only unbeaten team in the division, having won 10 matches, and drawn 2 games.

They travel to India to play Mumbai City FC on November 6, 2023, in their next Asian Champions League encounter.
