England super star Alex Greenwood suffered a horrible head injury in the match against Belgium on October 31, 2023.
The Lionesses defender collided with a Belgium player, Jassina Blom, after going for the ball in the 18th minute of the match, leading to a total delay of 12 minutes.
Upon the incident, the English medical staff rushed to assist the defender using oxygen to enable her to survive the horrible injury.
Alex Greenwood was carried off the pitch with a stretcher, a neck brace, and an oxygen mask for the 12 minutes she was attended to.
It was reported that she was responding extensively to the medical staff. She was squeezing her hands to meet the hands of Millie Bright and Georgia Stanway.
Jess Carter was sent by the Lionesses manager to replace Alex Greenwood.
